Mornings need a little kick? This Cardamom Ginger Smoothie is ridiculously tasty, a little creamy a little spicy and is ayurvedic bliss in your belly!
So what so great about this shake, you ask? We've already gone over the yum factor but how about the healthy stuff?
Both cardamom and ginger have been widely used in ancient Ayurvedic medicine for their amazing medicinal properties and lucky for us they taste as good and they heal. Ginger is great for digestion and helps with nutrient absorption. Both cardamom and ginger are anti-inflammatory; they fight depression and help relieve morning sickness, which might come in handy as they're also natural aphrodisiacs! Cardamom contains a ton of vitamins, has anti-microbial properties, protects against cancer and is great for circulation as well. Then there are the cacao nibs! Considered a superfood, cacao nibs which come straight from the cacao plant, boost your energy and metabolism, regulate hormone levels, are great for your heart, are anti-aging, and again are an aphrodisiac (ahem!). Seriously, there's really no way you aren't going to have a kick ass day after starting your morning with this magic potion in your blender.
What you need...
- 1 Large Banana
- 1/2 Cup Organic Almond Milk
- 2 Pitted Dates (chopped)
- 1/2 TSP Cardamom (more or less depending on your taste)
- 1 Large knob of Ginger (chopped)
- 1 TSP Cacoa Nibs (Sprinkle a few on top as well)
- 1/2 Cup Crushed Ice
A little tip- Add all ingredients aside from the ice first. The dates and ginger tend to fall to the bottom so it's best to get them nice and chopped before adding ice.
Now get blending!
